Bush shoe-thrower seeks Swiss asylum

Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the Iraqi reporter who threw his shoes at President George W. Bush in Baghdad last month is reportedly seeking political asylum in Switzerland. Geneva-based lawyer Mauro Poggia said the journalist’s life is in danger in Iraq. He told Swiss newspaper Tribune de Geneve that his client will go to the Swiss Embassy in Baghdad to formally file the asylum request once he’s released from prison.
